With 2018 wrapping up and 2019 peering just around the corner, it is hard not to be retrospective about this year’s drops, cops, and misses.
Every week, a new sneaker drops. In fact, with so many shiny and new releases, it is easy peasy lemon squeezy to get overwhelmed by the latest and greatest creations.
Only a few short months ago, the Nike React Element 87 dropped. It left a metaphorical explosion on the sneaker world drawing sneaker of the year accolades from many a sneaker connoisseur.
I tried to cop the first wave of original releases, but struck out every single time.
Last week, I stumbled upon a restock while picking up a pair of deeply discounted Air Safari’s from a local boutique.
Surprisingly, I had a chance to try a pair in my size.
These Nike React Element 87s are straight outta box(ton) comfortable. They look fly, especially with some questionably flashy socks.
So why the Harden hesi you ask?
To be honest, I am not entirely sure. This pair of kicks is everything it should be and maybe even more.
Perhaps it is the sudden shock that this sneaker is now more readily available?
Or maybe it’s the realization that you simply can’t cop every hot drop?
Perhaps it is a sudden epiphany that translucent kicks are only a fleeting moment in sneaker relevancy?
To the Nike React Element 87 I say,
Do you love me?, I tell her only partly
I only love my Royals and my OG Nikes
