With the severity of events that have transpired over the last couple of months, it is easy to feel overwhelmed by the devastation of COVID-19’s wake.
Families have been torn apart, loved ones have departed far too early, and social isolation has been mandated by many government bodies.
While it’s easy to be overwhelmed, my ray of hope comes from when I spend time with my daughter doing goofy things like learning how to draw random Pokémon characters or messing around outside shooting a basketball over our recycling bin.
While wearing Gym Red 1s (or any other pair of fly kicks for that matter) won’t change the health scare situation we are facing, what we can do is tell our loved ones how much they mean to us.
So the next time you lace up your kicks, or socks if you are home bound, tell those around you how much you care about them.
Because I know, you know, we know, that it’s not about the sneakers you are wearing, but who you are wearing them with.
So in the adapted lyrics of JP Saxe and Julia Michaels’ song If The World Was Ending,
If the world was over, you’d wear your sneakers, right?
