Originally released in 1985 and designed by Nike’s Peter Moore, the Air Jordan 1 revolutionized the sneaker industry.
The AJ1 successfully parted the Red Sea and created a safe passageway for performance and style to seamlessly blend into one timeless silhouette.
35 years later, the Jordan 1 continues to be a relevant sneaker on the feet of the young, and the young at heart. With simple colour blocking variations and the introduction of new materials, the AJ1 reinvents itself every release, creating a fury of instant sell outs.
But what does each new colour way or OG retro release say about its wearer?
Below is a small snap shot, a spring collection if you will, of my on foot Jordan 1 sneaks.
Let’s Dance! Get your David Bowie officiating on, because it’s officially a walk off.
Let’s start off with a Union lace swap on an OG Shadow classic. This look says I respect the past, but also embrace the present.
Next is a well worn and great quality general release with a basic white AJ1 lace swap. This Hyper Royal Blue 1 says I know quality when I see it, and I know what time it is Mr. Wolf.
Onwards! Let’s have a gander at a clean and well worn classic. This creased toe box Metallic Red 1 keeps it purely OG and says put some respeck on it!
Sauntering on in a pair of Hyper Crimson 1s with a peach lace swap stolen from my NYC to Paris SB 1s. This pair of kicks says look at me, and even though I am a dad, I still rock 1s with wild lace swaps.
Last, but not least. LLCoolJays. If you rock a size 9.5” like myself, you have access to some pretty unique kicks. This super stylish and luxurious Jordan 1 High Zip is the bees knees. It features some of the best quality material I have ever worn on a Jordan 1. This pair says style is gender neutral.
When you rock your 1s, what kind of message are you portraying?
What do your Jordan 1s say about you?
