2018 was a pretty dang good year in terms of selection and pick ups.
New and remixed silhouettes came faster than Vin Diesel living life a quarter mile at a time.
Distilled, titrated, and whittled down, my 2018 must have pick ups were the Air Jordan 3 black cement which I unintentionally purchased two times, the Air Jordan Storm Blue Union 1s which I purchased zero times, and the Air Jordan 1 Shadow which I also picked up a total of zero times.
Yo, I’ll tell you what I want, what I really really want.
So tell me what you want, what you really really want.
I wanna, I wanna, I wanna, I wanna,
Cop Shadows at the retail level and a zigaziga ah-Sneaker Spice Girls
When it comes to paying resale prices, I am as stubborn as it gets; having slipped on a misplaced resale banana peel only once in my life. With a proven track record, I am perhaps best described as the last of a dying sneaker breed; the last of the Domesticus OG-us.
Call me old school and perhaps even an old fool, because a few months ago, I had an opportunity to purchase Shadow 1s for a mere $30 over retail.
But you already know how the story goes…. I said no thank you and moved on.
Then a few weeks ago, my sneaker buddy Ward from my weekly basketball session said he could get me a pair of Shadow 1s at the retail level.
I politely said thank you not really expecting the offer to materialize.
And badda bing, badda boom, a few text messages and a meet up later, I am now the owner of a pair of Shadow 1s that I paid retail pricing for.
Thank you to Ward and all the real sneakerheads out there trying to evoke the positive sneakerfeels in 2019 and beyond.
